How to Learn New Skills- Easily and Efficiently

Upgrading the knowledge bank is important for professionals. Gone are the days where you would complete school, graduate from college, and then forget about learning and implementation. The world is moving too fast.

If you do not upgrade your knowledge bank, then you will constantly be at the threat of becoming outdated professionally. You will become the Big black box televisions in the era of the Led Tv’s.

As we have grown up, we have ended up having a distaste for learning. There is no debate on how schooling messed up our brains as they are still following the trend and curriculum from the 90’s or even 80’s with a little or no development in the learning process.

Instead of doing and learning skills and implementing them in the day to day life, we ended up cramming up facts in our brain, and then we are asked to reproduce it without the know how how to practically implement it.

Memorization is not required in the digital age anymore. Machines are there to remember facts and figures. Every human being has the whole world’s information in their pockets. Now is the time to learn how to make those machines learn those facts and figures. Now is the time of digital world.

The purpose of education should be to learn new skills, not gain new information. You should not only learn the definition of Marketing from the Philip Kotler, but you should know how to impress and convert a marketing lead into your customer by the marketing and sales skills.

Instead of learning something by reading a book, watching a video, or doing a course, you can learn something by doing. If you study about Digital marketing and are keen to learn it, then IMPLEMENT IT.

“Theoretically learning and not Implementing is like tasting the food without having the actual bite.”

The best way to learn walking is to take a step ahead. If you are afraid to take the step ahead you will never be able to walk and will always stay at the same place watching others bypassing you.

The best way to learn how to write well is to start writing. Just pick up your pen and start writing.

The best way to learn to ride a bike is to ride a bike.

The best way to learn Facebook Ads is to run Facebook Ads.

The best way to learn SEO is to have a blog and do SEO.

When we start we might face difficulties , we might might make many mistakes, but always remember you never learned to walk in a single day, neither did you master the cooking skills in the first attempt.

When we start, we always feels like we should learn first and then implement it. But after learning or along the process many quits and call it off or they may learn it theoretically but may never implement it. Always remember you will never learn how to drive just by reading books , you need to buck up take the steering wheel in your hand and drive in order to learn how to drive.

Without doing something you will not learn in the first place. The theory of something is not going to help much in practice. But the practice of something is going to help a lot in understanding the theory.

There is always fear of failure when starting something new. The fear of what people will say. The fear of being judged. The fear of tasting failure. So instead of taking action and going through the pain, we keep learning, we keep preparing. And we become slow. We become too slow that in the way we forget about the reason we started learning. And we are often lost in the learning process.

To understand this we can think about a simple analogy.

When you were learning how to drive, you were afraid on driving in the busy roads at the peek hours. You were always too careful and focused on taking the turns. You were too focused in the driving.
But now after you learned how to drive and are familiar with the process you have started to multitask. You talk to people more comfortably, you talk to people on phone, you drive more comfortably and confidence. You are now an expert in driving.
But would you have become an expert only reading about driving in the books. The answer is a big fat NO.

That’s what happening for years in educational institutions learning theories without actually doing something. The process of learning and becoming boring without any motivating factor because the learning is not accompanied by doing and without doing there are no results.

Without results, the motivation to learn is lost. That’s why learning feels hard.

Sometimes, there is a false sense of motivation when people get ranked against each other. But the ranks do not mean anything in the real world.

When people get good marks at school, they get motivated to learn more for a short period of time, but when they realise that what matters are the real skills and not the theories it became too late. It also misdirects them into thinking that they need to have good marks percentage and this is what it takes to succeed in life. But in the real world, what it takes to succeed is not better marks or grades but better knowledge and implementation and also to be persistent in the face of failure.

That’s why time and time again we see many people who did very well in college actually do not do well in real life. And many people who did not do well in school and college shine in real life. Because they are getting motivated by the results of their work and it pushes them to work more. And they learn as they work.

Always understand, know, and remember the path as you move in the path.

Action and results are the only motivation to learn.

There is no other way to learn new skills fast.
